BEN WALKER
My passion for health and fitness has always been a driving force in my personal and professional life. As a former athlete, turned personal trainer, I have the expertise, passion, and resilience to help you transform your fitness.
I grew up locally in Dun Laoghaire. My road to personal training started with my successful sporting career when I was younger. I practiced as a paramedic, learning the importance of personal care in helping to improve the health and well-being of others. I wanted to help people become independent and healthy individuals, and it was this ended up being the driving force behind my shift in focus to fitness services.
I decided to move to Toronto and attend college to further my fitness education. Through my study of exercise physiology and human kinetics, I was able to combine my sporting passion with the joy I find in helping others transform their lives. I specialised in using athletes to prepare for performance, how to deal with a variety of cases of weight loss, and assessing and training injuries that were obstructing exercise.
Upon graduating, I worked as a fitness manager where I coordinated a team of personal trainers. I was also heavily involved in our clinic where I was able to personally interact and work with our clients, alongside physiotherapists, chiropractors and massage therapists.
Moving back to Dublin, I saw a need to simplify training services and make them more convenient. By bringing personal training to the homes of clients, Anywhere Fitness aims to help save busy professionals time and money, while still providing well rounded fitness, nutrition and health services.
MY BELIEFS AS A FITNESS SPECIALIST
I believe that personal training isn’t just about the few hours a week we spend together. My services include all aspects of a healthy lifestyle change.
I encourage my clients to be self active between sessions. Together, we will track their fitness progress through apps, where I also offer continual advice and mentoring. It is this additional training aspect which truly encourages change by growing independence and confidence. Ultimately leading to a more sustainable and balanced life.
