TRAINING AT HOME ENCOURAGES CONSISTENCY AND GIVES YOU PRIVACY

If you want a consistent approach to personal training, then working out at home with a trainer is the ideal solution for you. There are many benefits to having your coach come to your doorstep.

To make a successful program, you must feel comfortable within the environment you choose for your training regiment. This is important to keep you motivated at all times and meet the frequency of training needed to make your goals a reality.

One reason many people resist going to the gym is because of the heir judgement - all eyes on me.

People starting a fitness plan for the first time can feel self conscious about being watched, its understandable. However, feeling intimidated is not the best recipe for starting in the right direction. More than often there is no judgment being passed. Exercising at home can help you feel ensured and fully confident that there is no heir of expectancy in your own private setting.

The options are there to make the right setting for you. Play your own beats, turn on the TV and watch your favourite sports or soaps. It’s your choice when staying active in your own environment.

Typically speaking, we hope to exercise 4-6 times per week to bring out the best results from our fitness program. This makes in home personal training an attractive option for success, as it’s easier not to miss a workout and keep up the frequency.

It’s also hard to make excuses when skipping on your workout. When you have your trainer coming to you, it imposes a better sense of accountability.

SAVE TIME AND MONEY BT TRAINING AT HOME

Time is Money

They say time is money and that’s certainly the case for busy professionals, especially those in Dublin, commuting long hours on buses and the DART line to get to work every day. This can account for 1-2 hours of your day. By committing to a fitness program at home, you can save plenty of time by resisting the need to travel further by public transport or by car for each session. This also avoids an extra expense. The need for bus and train passes and tanking up your car on more gas.

Club Fees

Fitness Clubs in Dublin can be very expensive when you put the full package together - that is registration, monthly subscription, personal training and any other additional fees. Having a personal trainer at home can limit your budget to a single service. If you’re looking to save costs and create healthy habits in your living space, then this is the right option for you.

HOW CAN SAVING TIME HELP YOUR WELL BEING APART FROM WORKING OUT?

More Sleep

Who can argue with more sleep?

Especially if you are working 9-5 for most of the week.

Those two hours you save from travelling to the gym everyday can work wonders for your sleep patterns. Research has shown that working late and commuting in large crowds for longer parts of the day causes restlessness, affecting our ability to fall asleep.

So…by working out earlier, and getting to bed earlier, you’re set for a good nights rest. Exercise and early nights are the two essential factors for getting quality sleep. This also improves bodily functions. Quality sleep boosts our immune system and increases circulation. This reduces daily stress and heart related diseases.

Access to Healthy Meals

Healthy meals must be combined with physical activity when meeting your fitness goals. Most professionals throughout Dublin work 8-12 hour shifts. This means the average person is finding it hard to maintain a steady meal pattern - breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a few healthy snacks here and there. Starving yourself for long periods of the day is not solution to getting in shape or trying to encourage fat loss.

Saving time by training at home, its easier to sustain a healthy meal pattern and stay in control of your nutritional habits.

This avoids the temptation of all those take aways!

A balanced diet is key for losing weight or gaining muscle. Nutrients like protein, that helps recover the body, are best absorbed by your body within the first 30 minutes after a workout. This gives home exercise another advantage as its easy to make a meal directly after a workout and get a quick shake.

Having a healthy and balanced diet also monitors weight control. Having a large waist circumference increases the risk of heart related diseases such as diabetes, stroke and high blood pressure. Make sure to use time each day to track what you’re eating. Choose high energy - low caloric foods in your daily diet.

General Organisation

Saving time can prevent us from being disorganised.

Being in a constant state of disorganisation can lead to chronic health disorders. Chronic stress can lower our life expectancy and be detrimental for our overall health. While jobs will always have stressful factors, we can put a limit on our personal contribution to stress. By keeping our commitments simple, such as in home fitness, we can reduce the pressure we endure on ourselves.

This gives a chance to:

  • Prepare healthy meals for the week

  • Get our personal chores done in rotation

  • Arrange social events

SAVED FUNDS FROM IN HOME PERSONAL TRAINING? NOW LET’S INVEST IN YOU

Home Equipment

Now that you’ve avoided the extra expenses mentioned such as club membership and travel, it might be a great time to invest in fitness equipment to add more variety and creativity to your home workouts. Investing in your home gym holds you more accountable for your workout, and also supports your personal trainer with having more options. Less excuses can be made for skipping your session when you have all you need on your doorstep. The weather and the traffic cannot be to blame for missing your routine. Here is an example of some starter equipment for a multi purpose workout that is cost effective:

  • Dumbbell Set

  • Kettlebells

  • Mats & Bands

  • Cardio Machine (Rowing Machine, Treadmill)

Quality Grocery Shopping

Another good idea would be to invest in quality food.

It is better to select more whole natural foods vs processed foods. Whole foods (non-processed) are lower in calories, cholesterol, easier to digest and contain more nutrients. Having these foods in your diet will keep you on path for our common goals of weight loss and building muscle. Lean, clean meat is also important for this reason. We want to be able to consume enough natural sources of protein for muscle recovery without the need to eat more saturated fats.

Correct Training Gear

Going back to feeling comfortable in our fitness setting. This includes having the correct training gear.

Give yourself the chance to train to your best ability. It is best to choose loose, easy breathing gear so you can cope better with the duration of your exercise. This will help you keep cool and prevent dehydration.
